The Certificate II in Equine Industry is an introductory course that aims to prepare students for work in the horse industry. The program places emphasis on hands on skills based training. Students can count this as a subject towards their VCE study score (ENTER).
The academic rigor of the course is equivalent to Biology (as ranked by VCAA). The mode of delivery is flexible and includes:
- Workbooks (notes and review questions) appropriate to each module
- On line resources
- A CD ROM which covers required student’s research (the CD ROM has notes, video clips, photographs and web sites relevant to learning)
- Time frames to set up conference calls to schools and groups
- Eight annual practical sessions, which consolidate the underpinning knowledge gained during theory work. The practical sessions are delivered by industry professionals. In this way training takes place in a professional situation
- Two weeks structured Workplace Learning at suitable equine establishments
