The NCEE has a proud tradition of providing employment-ready new entrants into the Equine Industry.  NCEE provides equine training to approximately 200 secondary school students as a part of their VCE studies, with practical training provided across Victoria at leading studs and stables.

Flexible learning for mature-age students

You don’t have to have just finished school to study for a qualification.  The Diploma of Equine Stud Management can be undertaken on a part-time basis through a combination of distance learning and intensive workshops, held during Autumn and Winter to minimise impacting upon the breeding season.

New home for NCEE

Excitement is growing as the brand new Rural Industries Campus at Wangaratta nears completion. This will be the new home for NCEE and Park Lane Stud, and has purpose built equine training facilities including stable complex with 23 boxes, 2 stallion boxes, serving barn, 70m x 40 m covered equestrian arena, seminar rooms, and the brand new Wangaratta Equine Veterinary Hospital.

Equine short courses - seminars for skills training

Explore topics to enhance your skills and knowledge through short intensive seminars.  These short courses generally run for one or two days, and are held at the new Rural Industries Campus, Wangaratta.

Welcome

The National Centre for Equine Education (NCEE) is a specialist training centre established within Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE (GOTAFE).

The NCEE caters for the horse racing, horse breeding, equine health, performance horse and general equine sectors offering industry approved qualifications to both secondary students and those already working in the field.

The NCEE is committed to meeting the needs of the Equine industry. Specialist short courses and flexible training are available to the equine industry to cater for individual requirements.

The NCEE has campuses in Victoria including Wangaratta in the North East and Cranbourne in south east Victoria. It also has practical training centres in regional areas across Victoria and in Tasmania.
