Irish Stud winner announced
The winner of the 2006 Irish National Stud Scholarship awarded by the NCEE is Jessica Birnie from Cockatoo in Victoria.
Jessica was presented with her award at a recent dinner for students of the Diploma of Equine Stud Management.
Also presented with an award on the night was Jennifer Dunk who won the Livestock Transport Group Incentive Award. The $500 award is presented to a first year student of the Diploma course who shows high practical skills.
Jessica completed the two year Diploma of Equine Stud Management at the National Centre for Equine Education (NCEE) in Wangaratta and was judged the best in her class to take out the award.
Previous winners of the scholarship have gained positions in the horse breeding industry and have commented the award was a positive experience which has led to increased opportunities for employment.
