Weanling parade successful
The NCEE held its annual Weanling Parade at the Christensen Lane Campus, Wangaratta on Wednesday 20th June in front of a crowd of interested people.
As part of the Diploma of Equine Stud Management the students prepare weanlings for the William Inglis Premier Weanling Sales.
The students hold the parade day to gain practical experience with the weanlings before travelling to the sales. It is also an opportunity to showcase the skills they have gained during the course.
As part of the preparation the weanlings are walked for 45 to 60 minutes per day and groomed every day by the first and second year students undertaking the Diploma of Equine Stud Management.
The stud has also acquired four new mares and a new stallion, My Patriarch, who was also paraded on the day.
The Weanling's Sire lists consists of Rock of Gilbrater, Delzao, Planchet, Estambul, Wiganthorpe, Court of Jewells, Tale of the Cat, Hussonet, Dubai Destination, Untouchable, More than Ready, Danbird, Denon, Special Bond, Saithor and Tayasu Tsuyoshi.
