Second strappers prize awarded

Frank Butler is the latest winner of the National Centre for Equine Education Strappers award for the best presented horse in the main race of the day at the Wangaratta Turf Club Meeting held on Anzac Day.

Frank works for John Symons and Sheila Laxon and his charge was the horse Chifte. The JSL team was on the ball knowing that the award was up for grabs with Frank's wife, and co-worker Carl Skene, working behind the scene to ensure that Chifte looked his best.

The National Centre for Equine Education (a business unit of Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE) is promoting the work of stable staff in the racing industry with a regular prize at all Wangaratta race meetings.

All 2009 Wangaratta meetings will attract the $100 strappers prize which is accompanied by an Outstanding Achievement certificate from the National Centre for Equine Education.
