profile PROFILE - Rod Kent

Racing Workplace Assessor/Trainer

Rod has been riding horses all his life and was employed in his father's stable from a young age, riding track work and performing stable duties. He became Foreman of MC Kent Racing Stables experiencing great success. Rod was also responsible for the education and preparation of horses for national and international racing operations.

In the 90's Rod gained experience travelling and working in racing centres in America, Europe and Asia. In 1998 Rod began teaching at the Australian Racing Institute and was invited to teach at the well respected TrainTech2000, delivering to both Australians and International students. Rod delivered tailored programs to suit the differing needs of International racing centres.

In January 2007 Rod re-joined MC Kent Racing Stables and also took up a position at NCEE delivering flexible certificate courses from the Australian racing package. Rod is based at the Cranbourne Turf Club and his qualifications include a Diploma of Racing; a Certificate III in Racing (Track Rider); Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; Certificate in Level 1 Workplace Health & Safety Officer; and Certificate in Teaching ESL (English as a Second Language).
