PROFILE - Celia Turnbull

Commercial Manager Animal Science

Celia is based at the Rural Industries Campus Wangaratta and is involved the development and coordination of on-campus programs; teaching Animal Sciences subjects; and workplace training and assessing of workplace trainees in companion animal industries and veterinary nursing. Celia is also a learning and assessment mentor for staff and writes and edits resource materials, including on-line materials.

Celia has a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc); a Graduate Diploma of VET Education and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAA). She is an experienced veterinarian with 10 years veterinary practice ownership in a partnership of six practices in Southern Sydney, treating small animals and wildlife. She also has five years experience as an Associate Veterinarian in mixed practice in North East Victoria and South East NSW.

As an undergraduate she worked in a variety of jobs including veterinary nursing, pet retail, laboratory assistant, marine aquarium attendant and as a horse trail riding guide. She also coordinates the Animal Technology course, workplace training and assessment in Veterinary Nursing, Companion Animal Industry and Fauna workplaces. Celia coordinates the Animal Care Double Certificate program and developed and coordinates the Diploma Veterinary Nursing (Surgical) course.

Celia is Chair of the Animal Care & Management Training Package Provider Network (Vic) and is a member of the Animal Ethics Committee for GOTAFE.
