Equine Health Trainer

Becky is located at the Christensen Lane campus in Wangaratta and is the Course Coordinator for Equine Nursing. Her role involves teaching equine nurses, Diploma Stud Management students, VETiS Certificate II in Equine Industry students, Certificate II in Agriculture (Horse Breeding) students and organising events for secondary students at the campus. Becky also assists Park Lane Stud Manager, Ian Horwood, with day to day running of the stud and with practical training.

Becky has extensive experience in the equine industry with eight years as a stud manager at a Thoroughbred stud with four stallions and up to 300 mares. She personally foaled down 80 foals each year.

She was also a Territory manager for an animal health company, a Regional Inspector for RSPCA NSW, a Veterinary Nurse and an Equine Nurse at Randwick in Sydney. Becky's experience extends to being a trackwork rider at Randwick for leading trainers including Bart Cummings and TJ Smith and a rider for a Thoroughbred breaker at Randwick. She has also competed in eventing and dressage and Pony Club as a child.

Becky has a Bachelor Applied Science (Equine), a Veterinary Nursing certificate and training in Equine Artificial Insemination, and is currently undertaking the Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
